26% Increase in Issuance of Investment Licenses in Qeshm Free Zone

The Director of Investment at the Qeshm Free Zone Organization, explaining the performance of this sector during the first ten months of the year 1404 (Iranian calendar), announced a 26 percent increase in the issuance of investment licenses in the region.

According to the Qeshm Free Zone Media Center, Seyed Masoud Al-Abbaei stated that during the ten months of the current year, the nominal volume of investment in the region surpassed 464 thousand billion rials.

He also referred to realized investments and added that during this period, approximately 224 thousand billion rials of domestic investment, along with 33 million euros of foreign currency investment, were realized on Qeshm Island, reflecting investors’ confidence in the region’s potential.

Al-Abbaei further pointed to the dynamic business environment in Qeshm, noting that a total of 2,698 economic licenses were issued or renewed during this period.

According to him, 951 of these were newly issued licenses, representing a 26 percent growth compared to the same period last year. In addition, 1,747 licenses were renewed, showing a 3 percent increase in this category.

The Director of Investment at the Qeshm Free Zone Organization announced that among the newly issued licenses, 171 were in the industrial sector, 539 in the services sector, and 235 in the commercial sector.

He added that in the license renewal category, 265 were in the industrial sector, 796 in services, and 686 in the commercial sector.

These statistics indicate continued economic growth and a strong inclination among private sector players to enter the strategic and rapidly growing market of the globally significant island of Qeshm.
