The issue of youth housing has long been one of the main concerns on Qeshm Island. Now, promising news is emerging from the Qeshm Free Zone Organization. Dr. Seyed Fakhreddin Hashemi, Deputy for Technical and Infrastructure Affairs of the organization, has announced that the housing situation for the island’s youth will be finalized by the end of June. This marks a turning point for thousands of young housing applicants in Qeshm who have been waiting for years to become homeowners.
Land Allocation Begins in Qeshm and Dargahan
According to Dr. Hashemi, based on plans set at the beginning of the year, the process of land allocation for the remaining villages and the two cities of Qeshm and Dargahan will begin in June. This news signals a serious move toward addressing the housing crisis in these high-demand areas.
In his interview with the Qeshm Free Zone Media Center, Dr. Hashemi stated: “In recent years, the Free Zone Organization, in collaboration with the Housing Foundation, has initiated the allocation of land and housing construction for many rural youth, which has seen significant progress.” These remarks reflect the continuation and acceleration of incomplete housing projects for young people.
Accelerating Youth Housing Projects with a Renewed Focus
The Deputy for Technical and Infrastructure Affairs emphasized that, following the recent efforts of the board of directors and the directives of the organization’s CEO over the past two months, there is now a serious determination to speed up the land allocation process for the youth of Qeshm. To that end, the Housing and Youth Office has been established within the Technical and Infrastructure Department.
This step has led to the formation of various committees and commissions aimed at decision-making and expediting the project. These structural changes highlight a more serious and focused approach to organizing youth housing in Qeshm.
Land Allocation Details for Qeshm and Dargahan
Dr. Hashemi mentioned that the number of applicants in Qeshm exceeds 2,000 young people and shared some important updates: “Within the next month, the land designation process for youth housing in Qeshm and Dargahan will begin.”
He also added, “By the end of the first half of the year 1404 [mid-2025], the land allocation process for the youth of these two cities will be completed.” This clear timeline paints a hopeful picture for thousands of young people in these densely populated areas.
Guidance for Applicants and Weekly Public Meetings
According to the report, from now on, eligible applicants wishing to follow up on their land allocation matters should visit the Housing and Youth Office located in the Technical and Infrastructure Department of the Qeshm Free Zone Organization.
Additionally, public meetings with the Deputy for Technical and Infrastructure Affairs will continue to be held every Tuesday, as in the past. This provides an opportunity for applicants to engage directly with officials.
