Qeshm Island, with an average annual rainfall of approximately 183 mm, is considered an arid region. However, due to its warm and humid climate (with a relative humidity of 50%), it essentially acts as a natural greenhouse. As a result, trellised and greenhouse cultivation of agricultural products (vegetables, fruits, and herbs) increases crop yield, optimizes resource use, and reduces costs.
The Qeshm Free Zone, by allocating more than 260 hectares of land to develop the island’s agricultural sector and produce various crops through trellised cultivation and modern irrigation methods, aims to attract investors to export these products to neighboring countries.
