Operation of 10 Kilometers of Section 4 of the Persian Gulf Highway in the Qeshm Free Zone

According to the Media Center of the Qeshm Free Zone Organization, on the occasion of the auspicious Eid al-Mab’ath, 10 kilometers of Section 4 of the Persian Gulf Highway—stretching from Laft Wharf to the Lenj-Sazi Junction on the globally registered island of Qeshm—were officially inaugurated. This project, implemented with a budget of 4,000 billion rials, includes full earthworks, construction of engineering structures, asphalt paving, installation of safety equipment, traffic signs, and guardrails on the return carriageway. The Persian Gulf Highway, recognized as one of the most important infrastructure projects on Qeshm Island, not only enhances road safety but also significantly reduces travel time between different parts of the island. The inauguration of this infrastructure project is particularly vital for cargo transportation and economic connectivity between Qeshm and other regions of Iran. As a result, Qeshm Island’s role as a commercial and industrial hub in the Persian Gulf will be further strengthened.According to this report, Section 3 of the highway was also inaugurated in Mehr of this year with an investment of more than 7,000 billion rials. Completion of the Persian Gulf Highway, as one of the pillars of the Persian Gulf Integrated Transportation Network Master Plan, plays a key role in the development of Qeshm Island. The Persian Gulf Bridge is also one of the four main pillars of this plan, and its completion and operation have long been a cherished aspiration of the island’s residents. The construction of the Persian Gulf Bridge and the connection of Qeshm to the mainland can complete the chain of sustainable and comprehensive development of the Free Zone, transforming the island into a stable and easily accessible destination for attracting investors. The four projects—development of Kaveh Port, construction of the bridge, road, and railway—constitute the four main pillars of the Persian Gulf Integrated Transportation Network Master Plan.
