Shahid Zakeri passenger port is located on the northern coast of the old town of Qeshm. This port, considered one of the most important in the region, operates with 45 high-speed marine vessels (under 1,000 tons), equipped with heating and cooling systems. It records approximately 80 daily voyages year-round and includes a passenger transit hall with a capacity of 400 people for travel between Qeshm, Bandar Abbas, and Hormuz Island.
The port consists of 7 concrete finger piers and 2 floating piers designed to accommodate tidal fluctuations, with water depths of 5.1 meters at low tide and 5.3 meters at high tide. Several entities are jointly responsible for managing the port, including the Qeshm Free Zone Organization, the Ports and Maritime Authority, the Police Force, the Coast Guard, and the Boatmen’s Cooperative.
Due to Qeshm’s favorable climate, the island becomes a major tourist destination during the second half of the year and the Nowruz holidays. Consequently, as one of the main sea routes to Qeshm, the port experiences a 40% increase in sea travel, reaching up to 330 voyages per day. Given that the current infrastructure cannot accommodate this volume, expanding the port is essential to improve tourist satisfaction and upgrade basic facilities.
